The gene is at chromosome 2 coordinates 2698234 to 2699664, Watson strand. There is DdisP011, a second copy of this gene in the genome, which is at chromosome 2 coordinates 3332122 to 3333552, Crick strand.

The two genes arose by segmental duplication, i.e. the region on Chromosome 2 from bases 2249563 to 3002134 is repeated between bases 3002337 and 3755085 in strains AX3 and AX4 (but not AX2).
