Phosphatase Classification: FCP: Subfamily UBLCP1
UBLCP1 is named after Ubiquitin-like domain containing CTD phosphatase 1. It has an accessary N-terminal domain, similar to ubiquitin. Its function is not well characterized, though in vitro assay showed phosphatase activity toward RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain [1].

Evolution
It is conserved from Nematostella to human but lost in nematode. However, UBLCP1-like proteins can be found in plants.
