Phosphatase Classification: Fold PPM (PP2C): Superfamily PPM (PP2C): Family PPM (PP2C): Subfamily CG9801

Evolution

The CG9801 subfamily is found in metazoa but lost in deuterostome.

Domain

Metazoa CG9801s have single structural domain, phosphatase domain. One of Dictystelium phosphatases has an additional N-terminal DEP domain (Dishevelled, Egl-10 and Pleckstrin domain), which is a globular protein domain of about 80 amino acids that is found in over 50 proteins involved in G-protein signalling pathways. Another Dictystelium phosphatase has a domain partially matches to Mitofilin, which controls mitochondrial cristae morphology.

Function

The function of metazoa CG9801s is unclear.
