SpurPTP-sf1 is a receptor tyrosine phosphatase subfamily first seen in the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus purpuratus.
Evolution
SpurPTP-sf1 has 18 members, all found in the sea urchin, S. purpuratus. Most are fragments encoding as little as a partial phosphatase domain, and several are likely to be parts of other genes, due to fragmented gene predictions or under-assembly of the genome.
Domain Structure
Most members are fragments that are consistent with an overall structure of twin intracellular phosphatase domains and an extracellular region with multiple FN3 repeats, and additional individual extracellular domains including Lectin_C, Herpes_LMP1, and Herpes_gp.
Functions
SpurPTP-sf1 is known only from sequence databases and has no known function.
