Phosphatase Classification: Fold CC1: Superfamily CC1: Family PTP: Subfamily SpurPTP-sf3

SpurPTP-sf3 is a receptor tyrosine phosphatase subfamily first seen in the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus purpuratus.

Evolution

This subfamily is unique to the sea urchin, which has two members.

Domain Structure

Both members have twin PTP phosphatase domains, and one has putative extracellular FN3 repeats. The twin PTP domains are most similar to those of the PTPRK chordate-specific subfamily.

Functions

SpurPTP-sf3 is known only from sequence databases and has no known function.
