Evolution

The PPP7C subfamily is found in eumetazoa and Placozoa Trichoplax adhaerens, but it is not present in sponge.

Domain

PPP7Cs typically have a domain combination of IQ motif, TPR structural motif, PPP phosphatase domain, and tandem EF hand structural motifs. The domain combination makes it easier and more confident to identify PPP7Cs. Drosophila melanogaster PPP7C, rdgC, has two TPR motifs.
